The Grady

We booked The Grady on a whim after weather disrupted our travel, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful to tired travelers. The lobby and artwork are lovely and worth taking time to enjoy. Our room was beautifully decorated, and the bed was extremely comfortable. We also liked the onsite restaurant’s nicely curated casual menu. The Copper Cow pour over coffee in the morning was a special treat. It’s a beautiful small hotel, and we’d come back for a planned getaway.

The staff at both the hotel and restaurant are wonderful. Christina, our valet, was especially delightful, kind, and courteous. We love the Grady and have stayed several times. It’s our go-to hotel in Louisville.

The Grady is a stylish boutique hotel within walking distance of whiskey tasting rooms. Linda at the front desk made check-in fun, and Mark downstairs at Wild Swan was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is in the basement. Most of what we wanted to do was walkable, and the in-room coffee was pretty good. The rooms were a bit small but very nice. We had trouble keeping the room warm, though we finally figured it out by the third day. The atmosphere is really hip. One downside is that most places, including restaurants, close by 8 pm, and lots of things were closed on Monday. Ugh. Tip: street parking is free after 6 pm Friday through early Monday morning, so there’s no need for valet.

Farrah at the front desk and Chance the valet gave me unmatched service during my one-night business trip. Both were so kind and accommodating that I asked for their names so I could mention them here. The bathroom was spacious and amazing, but the bed was too soft for my taste. I also noticed a lot of dust. The hardwood floors clearly needed much more attention. Still, it was a great experience and I’d stay again.
