The location worked well, about five minutes from both the airport and the Expo Center, and the person at the desk was friendly and helpful at check-in. The rooms, though, weren’t very clean, and the property seemed worn. I found short hairs on some bathroom hand towels, as if someone had trimmed their hair or beard over them. Some older hotels keep up their facilities better than this one did. Coffee was only available at breakfast, which was a minor inconvenience.

The employees were friendly, and the shared areas were clean. My room was okay, though the layout felt odd, there was no TV in the bedroom, and the couch had stains I was glad not to inspect under a UV light. The shower pan replacement was badly done, a pretty basic job to get right, and to me it says something about ownership’s approach. Breakfast was fine, though the Sysco packaged Belgian waffles were an unexpected change. H2 is better.

We stayed two nights for the farm show. The staff were pleasant and professional, and breakfast was decent, but we wouldn’t return. The rooms need a major update throughout. The couch looked worn and too dirty to risk sitting on. The towels were awful, the roughest and most worn-out we’ve had at a hotel, and the toilet paper was just as cheap and rough.

Breakfast was a little odd, but I had the most peaceful, heavenly night of sleep. I haven’t slept that well in years. I can’t tell if it was the bed, the pillows, or the room, but I want to come back just to sleep like that again.

About an hour after check-in, I found a bed bug. They offered a full refund, but the staff wouldn’t rebook us at another property. The hallways also smelled strongly of weed and cigarettes. There are plenty of other places nearby.
