Quality Inn & Suites University/Airport

The two staff members who tried were the older white man who helped with a plumbing problem and the Indian woman looking after breakfast. A couple of the guys working there seem to have a hard time getting up to help. When I had questions because something had stopped working again, they'd sigh before coming to the front desk. The hotel feels like a vintage set from a pulp fiction movie, and the rooms are large. There's lots of cupboard space in the kitchenette, but the hotel provides no pans, silverware, or plates. The appliances work, sometimes with a bit of TLC, despite broken outlets. Fresh air comes straight through those broken outlets too. There's a gym, but they tell you it's out of order. Ask for a reimbursement because the facility wasn't available, though, and suddenly they can open the door. The place is dirty and broken, and most of the staff don't seem to care. Seriously, avoid it.

I had a frustrating stay at 311 E Gaulbert Ave. They didn't tell me about the $200 deposit until I was standing at the desk to check in. The room clearly hadn't been cleaned before I arrived, and both it and the hallways smelled strongly and unpleasantly. The bathroom toilet also wouldn't flush properly. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The smell was so awful we left and spent $50 on cleaning supplies. We went out for our dinner reservation and when we came back, the room still smelled bad. Breakfast is served out of another room on the third floor, which I found odd. There was no ice, and the machine looked as if it had never been cleaned. We had to change rooms, but both were disgusting. In the first, there was a condom in the toilet, the bed wasn't made, and there was some kind of substance on all the tables. The floors hadn't been swept. After this experience, we'll never stay at any Quality Inn again.

The front desk receptionist was nice, but the woman watching the breakfast room was cold. She only talked when it was to a young-looking male employee, and they spoke a different language. The building is old and disgusting, with dirty floors and trim coming off the walls. Our room smelled like mildew mixed with chemicals. The big tub and shower had hot water through the tub, but not through the shower, so there was no hot shower.
