The staff are genuinely nice people, and the shuttle service was fantastic. I felt safe inside, though the area is a little sketchy and I wouldn't take a walk at night. It's less than five minutes to the airport, with a gas station under a mile away. Still, I probably wouldn't stay here again and would try another hotel on the grounds. I was here for a week, and for three days in a row there was no hot water. The boiler couldn't keep up, and lots of people had the same issue. Breakfast wasn't great, and the Wednesday night dinner was just okay. The place is old and needs updates. There are four other nearby hotels that look nicer, all owned by the same family. Downtown is another option.

The staff were helpful and accommodating, and we plan to stay here again. Our ground-floor queen suite was near an entry door, which worked well for one of us who is disabled. We especially liked the walk-in shower, comfortable room, and warm, well-placed lighting. The kitchen appliances looked new, and the suite had fresh, updated decor, furniture, and lighting. The wide desk could fit two portable monitors side by side, and there were plenty of 110-volt and USB outlets by the nightstands and desk. The Residence Inn is conveniently located near the airport, Kentucky Kingdom, Exposition hall, Churchill Downs, and Downtown.

The service was very friendly, and I had a great stay. My room was clean and had good TV options. It can get a little noisy near the airport, but they provide earplugs and sound machines.

The hideaway bed was unusable, which made for an underwhelming stay. Guest service apologized when I raised it, but the only offer was a new room on my last night, and they didn't seem willing to try anything else. The room furnishings were showing their age too.

Chamisha at the front desk was exceptionally helpful and had a warm, genuine personality. I called ahead because my co-worker Vee and I were in a tight spot, needing to get marketing assets from Wisconsin to Louisville by 4 PM, and we wouldn't arrive until 1:30 AM. She understood that I was traveling with a female co-worker and upgraded our accommodations to give us more privacy. I've spoken with many Marriott front desk associates, and none have been as accommodating as Chamisha.
