The Myriad Hotel Louisville, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

The street noise kept me awake until about 3 a.m., even with the earplugs I brought. Once the bars and street quiet down, you can finally sleep, so it might suit you if you're out that late anyway. I’ve stayed at plenty of Hiltons as a diamond member and usually love them, but this one was far too loud in a street-facing room. The staff were nice. There was no bath mat, and they had to bring me a blow dryer. At this price, I expected a bath mat.

Pamela turned this around for me. In under five minutes, she updated the reservation so my husband could check in with our son. She was friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and gave me some of the best customer service I’ve seen in a long time. I booked the room as a gift for them, but haven’t stayed there myself. At first, the reservation showed only my name. Margaret at the front desk said she couldn’t change it and couldn’t find the booking, even though it was fully paid and I had the confirmation number. I called again the next morning and reached Pamela. I’d give her 10+ stars. She should be running the place. My three-star rating reflects how the initial call went.

The hotel is in a great spot near food and coffee, and it’s beautifully decorated. The pool area was a nice place to get some fresh air, and the front desk staff at check-in and checkout were lovely and welcoming. I was in town for the St. James Art Show and booked a double room through the Hilton app, staying less than a day, from around 5 p.m. until 9:30 the next morning. The room was much smaller than I expected. When opened, the door nearly touched the bed, and there were only about five feet between the foot of the bed and the opposite wall, where the bathroom sink was. There was one small side table, no desk, dresser, chair, closet, or folding luggage stand. Clothes went on hangers attached to a vertical hook beside the sink. For this price, I expected more of the usual room amenities, though there was a blow dryer. There’s a paid lot behind the building for $17 a night, but I found plenty of free street parking nearby. The photos I sent my husband when I arrived were screenshots from a video, so apologies for the quality. I appreciated the hotel responding to my review. I’d also told them by email that the room photos didn’t match the room I received. If I’d seen pictures showing what it actually looked like, I would have chosen another option, especially since the website shows some very cool rooms.

The team made us feel so welcome. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful, and I really enjoyed chatting with them. The whole hotel has a cool, intentional feel, and it was clean and comfortable. We had a lovely, quick stay, and the price was reasonable. Lots of great spots are within walking distance, so I’d definitely come back when I’m in town.
