WoodSpring Suites Knoxville Airport

The room keys kept failing, and the after-hours number never got answered. More than once I waited hours to get my key fixed, even though I'd paid for a room I could only get into some of the time. The linens were dirty, there was mold on my bathroom ceiling, and the rooms and hallways were disgusting. It smelled awful and there were bugs everywhere. I never write reviews, but this place is horrible. Trust me, don't stay here.

I didn't realize this was an extended-stay hotel, where housekeeping doesn't clean your room during your stay. You have to take your own trash to the dumpster and go to the laundry room to swap dirty towels for clean ones. I don't mind doing those things myself, and the staff are friendly and the rooms clean, but my 72-year-old father can't manage them on his own. They should explain this on the website so elderly and disabled guests can decide whether a stay longer than one night will work for them.

I'm a teenager traveling home on a budget, and I picked this place because the photos looked decent. The staff are nice, but the hotel and room smell so bad. Both beds had hair all over the sheets, inside and out, and the bathroom floor wasn't clean. I'm worried about bed bugs. I have to stay tonight because nearby hotels are booked, and after driving from Florida I didn't arrive until after 3:00 a.m. If I had another option, I'd leave.

The room was basic but clean, though the photos make the place look better than it is. We reported a smoke smell at check-in. At checkout, an older woman started yelling at me, accusing me of smoking in her hotel. I was floored by the way she spoke to me. The location is a decent option if you're trying to avoid the hotels further down Alcoa Hwy that are overrun with drugs, but the customer service was horrific.
