Candlewood Suites Idaho Falls by IHG

We stayed for 7 nights and used the hotel as a base for Yellowstone, the Tetons, Craters of the Moon, and other places in and around Idaho. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and the location worked well. The staff were friendly and the rooms clean. We borrowed camp chairs for the week from the lending locker, which has appliances and all sorts of other things. There’s also a small store with drinks and snacks, plus a coffee machine. The kitchen was a nice extra, though our refrigerator made very loud noises all night, and the pillows could have been more comfortable. Housekeeping was my main complaint. We were told that for stays of 7 nights or more they’d come once, but no one came during our 7 nights. Carrying out our own trash was fine, but it would have been nice to have the towels refreshed once. I could have asked, but kept expecting them to come by. Still, it’s a nice place to stay.

The front desk staff were really warm and welcoming, and the room was clean and well appointed for this class of hotel. There’s a nice kitchen, and I’d recommend the place. Just note there’s no breakfast, only grab-and-go snacks for purchase. They offer admission to a pool down the street, though we were there just overnight and didn’t try it. It’s on a busy street, so it was a little noisy. Sorry about the messy picture, I forgot to take one before we moved in.

I often travel to this area and usually stay somewhere else, so I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the hotel and rooms were. I’ll definitely stay here again.

The full kitchenette was great: a full refrigerator, ice maker, stove, microwave, and dishes. The front desk staff were friendly and went out of their way to help. Dogs are allowed too, thank you!
