Tahquitz Pines Retreat

At night the whole property lights up with little lights, and there are fire pit areas where you can sit and set how long the fire stays on with the meter button. We visited in spring, and the weather was lovely. It's a peaceful mountain spot with plenty for a family vacation: a restaurant onsite, complimentary drink coupons for it, a game room with pool, ping pong, air hockey and foosball, a workout room, basketball, beach sand volleyball, pickle ball, swings, and tetherball. The pool has a nine-foot-deep section, but the water was so cold it felt like an ice bath. Our cabin was cozy, though on the small side, and the shower was tiny with very little room to move and a comically short nozzle. Still, it's a nice family getaway in the mountains.

Jessica was so sweet at check-in and answered all our questions about our next visit, which we're planning for May. The room was exceptionally clean, and the grounds are dog-friendly, with peaceful paths to walk her around. My 17-year-old especially enjoyed the gym equipment, tennis courts, and game room. At night the lighting makes the place look beautiful. We love exploring new places, and this peaceful retreat is already high on our list. We'll book again, and I highly recommend it.

The grounds were beautiful and very well maintained, and the staff were great. Our room was nice, though the pullout bed could have been better. Its mattress was thin and lumpy. The kids were fine on it, but I would've been uncomfortable. The pillows on our bed were too thin for us, and I woke with a bit of a sore neck.

The onsite restaurant was tasty and convenient after a day out, and downtown was just a short distance away, making it easy to explore. The room was clean and comfortable, and every staff member we met was kind and welcoming. Taqhuiz Pines Resort had beautifully maintained grounds and a peaceful feel. We had a very good stay and would happily return.
