Sea Club #405 - Manatee Zone

The location is hard to beat, with most things we needed within walking distance and the beach directly across the street. Still, we were disappointed this time. We stayed here two years ago and had a great experience, including good communication from management. During booking for our recent stay, I noticed Resort Rentals was now managing the property. The shower was dirty, the bathroom sink was cracked, and the kitchen floor tile was cracked and poorly patched with duct tape. The pots, pans, and utensils were dirty too. A small fridge sign said the condo would be sprayed for bugs on the second Monday of the month, but nobody told us at check-in. When I raised these issues with management, they only said they'd take note. I said the condo didn't represent the price I paid, but they offered no compensation or suggestions. They seemed not to care. After checkout, I emailed about our concerns and asked for follow-up, but haven't heard anything.

The balcony faced the inter-coastal waterway, and sitting there in the peaceful setting was wonderful. We watched boats and dolphins swimming around. The condo was as big as a house, and the residents made us feel welcome. The beach is just a few steps away, right in front of the property, and the pool was sparkling clean and well maintained. There are food and drink places within walking distance too. Amazing, amazing, amazing. I didn't want to leave and will return and recommend it.

The price feels far too high for a unit in this condition, especially with other nearby places available. We lost all our excitement for the week in the first hour. First, we were stuck in the elevator until the local fire department rescued us. While thanking them, we heard this was the second time that day. Then we found a badly outdated, unclean condo with a horrible smell, random decor, and furniture in poor shape. The couch and chairs squeak at the springs and are uncomfortable. The walls, ceilings, and floors need repairs, the blinds won't open, and the carpet and rugs are matted. The advertising photos are misleading. I’d be embarrassed to advertise this unit. We like coming here for its laid-back feel. It's quiet, at least in September, and close enough to the beach. Clean, too.
