There are plenty of nearby places for lunch and dinner, including Applebee's, McDonald's, a gas station, Walmart, and Goodwill. The hotel also serves free breakfast with biscuits and gravy, eggs, and sausage. Coffee is available even late at night, though there’s no coffee maker in the room. There is a fridge and microwave, but TV is limited to local channels and movies, with no Netflix or similar service. Julie at reception was patient, attentive, and helpful. I had a nice chat with her over breakfast while I was sitting alone, and she was cleaning the kitchen then. Most of the other guests seemed to be company employees who ate early. Our room was spacious and the temperature felt right. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were small and there were only two per guest. There were tables at both ends of the bed, plus a desk and chair, and a hair dryer. I found the water much too hot and had trouble figuring out how to get it warm. It was mostly quiet during our stay.

The room and hotel were both clean, and the front desk clerk was professional and helpful when I checked in very late. Breakfast was served, but I missed it by three minutes. I wish they’d keep it going until 10 instead of ending at 9.

I should have left as soon as I walked in. The front desk area reeked of weed, but I didn’t know the neighborhood and hoped the room would be better. It wasn’t. The room was dirty and smelled bad. In room 305, the bathroom door didn’t even lead to the bathroom properly. It had holes punched in it, wouldn’t latch or lock, and was about two inches off in size. I tried to put up with it for one night, but the weed odor gave me a headache and cigarette smoke was coming into my room too. There was loud stomping and pounding, even on the third floor. From 10 p.m. until midnight, an employee chatted and laughed with a guest in the hallway. I had a sound machine on, but by midnight I’d had enough, packed up, and checked out just after midnight. The woman at checkout didn’t seem concerned. She said the hallway noise had been an employee, so she knew what I meant, and asked me to write a note for the manager. This was last Saturday night into Sunday. Now it’s Tuesday, nobody is answering the phone, and my deposit is still on hold. I’d like a full refund since I didn’t really get to stay there.

The air felt a little dense and could use better purification, but otherwise this was a peaceful, quiet stay with friendly staff. It was a good place to regain some peace of mind.
