Courtyard by Marriott Indianapolis Airport

Getting to the airport is easy from here, and the lobby bistro is convenient for a drink or light food. Our king room was clean but could use an update. Construction made the entrance and elevators harder to use, though it wasn’t a huge issue. My booking app hadn’t mentioned it. We might return depending on the price, but I’d compare rates first.

The best part was the staff, who took care to make sure our reservation was secure and the process went smoothly. We stayed in a remodeled room before an early flight out of Indy. It was clean, but the layout felt awkward and not well thought through. The hotel is still under construction, and it clearly needed the update. It struck me as an old Super 8 that had been bought and rebranded as a Courtyard. Compared with other Marriott properties, it didn’t meet the standards we’ve come to expect.

This was my first bad experience with Marriott, despite having stayed at many dozens of their properties. It makes the brand look bad. The staff need much better hospitality training if the owners want guests to return. There are plenty of better options, so don’t settle for this one.

The front desk customer service was the rudest I’ve dealt with in a long time. Instead of clearing up the problem and helping, the receptionist berated me over the phone for not knowing their policy. I’ll never stay here, and wouldn’t recommend it to travelers or anyone nearby.
