The room had a lot wrong with it. It smelled strongly of smoke despite the hotel being non-smoking, and the air spray used to cover it made the odor even worse. Everything I brought now smells like both. The toilet leaked onto the floor, its seat wasn’t attached, and there was a hole in the wall that looked like someone had kicked it. The shower was dirty, with pipes hanging below the sink. One bed sat crooked, and a sheet on the other had red stains. The mattress was so poor I slid down when I sat on it. The walk to our room was strange, too. We had to cross a laundry room with a wet floor and no warning sign, then go outside the other side and climb stairs. There were no stairs on our side of the hotel. The desk chair was broken, an outlet box was coming loose, and with the door shut, about a quarter inch of light showed around it. It wasn’t cold, luckily, because that much air coming in would have made it hard to keep warm.

People smoke weed and cigarettes in the rooms, bang on doors, and run through the halls at night. Avoid this place. The staff are rude, and it’s a joke. We rented a room for a week, left with the blinds open, and came back that evening to find our key didn’t work. At the front desk they gave us another one, then told us they’d rented our room to someone else because they said we’d moved the blinds. It was the middle of the night and we had nowhere else to stay. We got a room here again today. Checkout is at 11 a.m.; when we returned at 10:15, the room was locked and we couldn’t get in. We waited at the front for 20 minutes and had to call them.

The room didn’t feel clean when I walked in. There were drink rings on the counter and tabletops, hair stuck to the shower wall, dirty mirrors and small black rubber bands on the floor. Trash cans around the building were overflowing, and maintenance didn’t seem to exist. It felt more like a motel where people live than a place for visitors. My dog didn’t even want to stay. The website says breakfast, but all they had was a tiny muffin, maybe two bites. There was no coffee maker or hair dryer in the room. The website and the sign by check-in also promised an airport shuttle. The TV remote offered Netflix, but the app wouldn’t load for sign-in, and there wasn’t working Wi-Fi. A lot of the advertising felt false. I was very disappointed in Days Inn and wouldn’t recommend it. I usually leave $5 a night for cleaning, not so someone can clean up after me, but because the room is clean when I arrive.

I just needed a safe, clean room by the airport for a few hours of sleep, and this wasn’t it. The room smelled of stale cigarettes, I didn’t feel safe, and the man at the front desk wasn’t very friendly. I couldn’t understand him through the plexiglass, which had no audio pass-through. Even the liquor store down the road had bars on all its windows. They charged a $50 deposit for a $74 room without disclosing it during booking or on the confirmation. I’ve only heard of that when traveling with pets, so it gave me an idea of the usual clientele. I got the deposit back after checkout, but they should have told me before I arrived. I’ve been happy with Days Inn on past trips, but this one gives Wyndham a bad name.

I checked out a day early because I couldn’t take the problems anymore. The room was dirty and loud, with health and fire hazards. The door wouldn’t stay closed properly, and there was a bag on the fire extinguisher. The manager and front desk receptionist were unprofessional. My key still didn’t work after they replaced it. The sheets were stained when I checked in, and the “new” set they gave me yesterday was stained too. The fridge and clock were unplugged, the sink stopper didn’t work, the toilet flooded twice, and there was mold in the shower. The room hadn’t been cleaned when I arrived. I expect at least a partial refund and am also talking to Wyndham hotels, the Health Department and the BBB. This place needs to close.
