Every staff member we dealt with was among the friendliest I’ve met at a Marriott property, and we’ve stayed at many. The front desk and housekeeping were warm and accommodating, which made up for the hotel’s age and location. The room was clean and felt safe, though a little rundown. Indy’s location isn’t the best, but it didn’t feel dangerous.

The people working here were kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. I also enjoyed the pool and found the place comfortable, with a modern feel. The beds were really soft.

The staff were very nice, and the lobby looked good, but the online pictures gave the wrong impression. Our room was okay, nothing special, and didn’t look like the photos. The pool needed cleaning: paint was coming off the floor, things were rusty, and there was scum on the tiles. The hot tub water was brownish and needed attention too. Breakfast ran until 10, but by 8:45 it was gone and nothing else had been made, and there was no juice. I was really disappointed, especially since it was a Marriott.

Fairfield Inn & Suites Indianapolis East was a great value for our one-night stay. The suites have handy little kitchenettes for keeping snacks or warming up takeout. Breakfast was free, with make-your-own waffles that were actually good and the usual breakfast staples. Parking didn’t cost anything, and the hotel is very close to the main spots around east Indy. An easy stay with no hassle.

I didn’t receive the Marriott survey, but I want to recognize Michelle at breakfast. Her cheerful smile, friendly conversation, and care for the breakfast area made a business trip feel much warmer. Angelique was great too. I had a lovely stay and plan to come back. The Christmas tree and the home-baked chocolate chip cookies were nice touches, and I wish I could send this straight to Marriott. 10s across the board.
