Super 8 by Wyndham Indianola

The night desk man was very nice and helpful, and the hotel felt safe, so it wasn't the worst option. The rest was pretty lacking. It's outdated, the location is only so-so, and the rooms need work and weren't very clean. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned well, and we found a roach on our last night. Breakfast was basically two cereals and packaged muffins, with nothing hot or fresh. There’s no elevator, so ask for a ground floor room if you have heavy bags unless you want to haul them upstairs. I'm not sure this is still worth $80 a night, maybe $50.

The room was nice and the staff were friendly, though there were little gnats flying around. The lights in both the bathroom and room were dim.

My three-day stay was good, and the cleaning staff were excellent and very helpful. The front desk guy also gave excellent customer service. Poor fella had worked 12 hours straight, and he’s a real asset to the WYNDHAM organization. I can't remember his name, but he was a true professional. There was one other employee in the early morning, around 4am, who was RUDE. I'm trying not to play the race card, and I won't, but I think he had some issues. I really wanted to give five stars.

The breakfast area was a favorite, with its wooden blinds and floor-to-ceiling windows, and the free breakfast was nice. My room was clean, the bed comfy, the staff friendly, and it was quiet. Walmart is down the street and Dollar General is next door. I was especially glad I ended up here after booking an Oyo motel half an hour away in Ruleville. It was filthy, so I left without staying and spent the night here instead. Super 8 and Wyndham hotels/motels generally do a good job of offering clean, comfortable rooms for budget travelers. I’m sticking with the Wyndham brand from now on when I travel on a budget.
