Motel 6 Inglewood, CA

The staff were mostly nice and gave good service, apart from the guy with long hair. But this wasn’t a great six-day stay. I paid over $100 a day, and the online advertised amount wasn’t what I was charged. Even though I checked in very late the first night, with only two hours of the day left, they wouldn’t discount it. They say late checkout is available, but staying past 11:30 am means losing your deposit. The rooms are extremely basic, nothing deluxe, and not worth the price. There’s a fridge but no in-room microwave, so you have to go downstairs to heat food. No tubs either, and parking is tight. I should’ve gone to the LAX location, which at least has tubs and a pool. The TV only had basic channels and no program guide, just “no program info available,” so you have to surf through them. The bed was flimsy and unsupportive for larger people, and the one chair wasn’t comfortable for larger people or women with hips and thighs.

If you’re going to a game or show at one of the stadiums, this motel is conveniently placed. It’s about a four-minute walk from the Intuit Dome, not far from Sofi Stadium and Kia Forum, and around a 15-minute drive from LAX Airport. The staff we spoke to were professional, the room was clean and presentable, and the bed was comfortable for a good night’s sleep. It’s a two-star motel, so keep expectations in line with what you pay. The $100 security deposit was returned at checkout, and they’d told me about it during booking.

The room smelled, the floor was dirty, and the tub felt dangerous. There was no slip-resistant surface and no stopper. I wasn’t expecting the Ritz, but I’ve never stayed in a motel without something as basic as a hair dryer. If you expect a microwave, iron, hair dryer, shampoo, or coffee maker, don’t stay here. We got there before check-in and went to ask if the room was ready. A sign said someone would be back in 10 minutes, but it took more than 20. When she returned, she rudely told us and three other couples to come back at check-in time, then left the desk again.

Room 220 was clean and in very good condition, and the TV and remote worked. The mattress was old, thin, and I could feel and hear the springs. Service was okay. I booked a smoking room on the Motel 6 app, and the clerk said that was what I had. But I paid a $100 cash deposit for room damage, and the paperwork said all rooms were non-smoking. There was also a non-smoking graphic on the door. It made me wonder if they might charge me for smoking damage in the room.
