Rodeway Inn & Suites LAX

The outside might put you off, but the rooms are decent. Mine was basic, neat, clean, and had no smell. The bed, though, seriously needs replacing. I found it uncomfortable. It’s a good location for SoFi, an easy walk though not right next door. One little tip: check the air conditioner filter, it might need rinsing. I do that in every hotel, however nice the room is.

The person at the front desk was nice and promptly brought extra pillows when I asked, but the stay had a lot of problems. The room was dated, musty, not very clean, and noisy. The shower had almost no water pressure, and I saw what looked like obvious drug deals in the parking lot. I was nervous about leaving my car in the front lot, though it was thankfully untouched. Donuts and coffee were advertised, but there was nothing when I went down. The neighborhood also felt sketchy, and the whole place was very low budget.

For the price, the central location between the beaches and downtown is hard to beat. I heard traffic and a couple of planes, though neither seemed constant, so light sleepers may want to look elsewhere. The room looked recently remodeled, but there was no shampoo. I didn’t hear the neighbors, and I’d consider staying again if I were on a budget.

For a one-night airport stop, Rodeway was a reasonably priced option that did the job. The room was spacious and clean, though plain, and the location was decent. Other hotels are closer to more restaurants and amenities, and some are nearer the airport. I’d stay here again if the rate made sense, but would pay a little more for a nicer room or a spot closer to the airport.
