LAX guest house

The place itself was clean and good for a budget stay, but the staff were rude and unpleasant and made me feel unwelcome. After I'd checked out, I sat outside on the phone while arranging where to go next, and they kicked me off the premises. I've never seen a hotel do that to someone simply sitting outside. The other reviews speak for themselves. Don't go here.

My daughter had paid days ahead, and she's never been to LA. When she arrived, the assistant manager refused to give her a room. After she said she'd already paid, he told her, "I don't care, go away." She was left alone, scared, and with nowhere to go or anyone to turn to at 1230in the morning. She was going down for medical work for the military. We live all the way up by Fresno CA.

I can't recommend staying here in good conscience. There were more than FIFTEEN PEOPLE SHARING ONE shower. A sign said the shower couldn't be used, yet the manager was using it. You can see the towel on the hook, the shower caddy, and water droplets inside. I took my shower at 24 hour fitness. People smoked right outside the open window, even though the law says they should be 25 feet from the building. There was major "LOUD" phone use, with no consideration for the shared space. The white rack is for guests' personal items, but every shelf was occupied and a "resident" was using mine. The woman in the bunk above me played loud videos she found hilarious and kept laughing out loud in a disturbing way. Someone kept closing the unoccupied restroom door while leaving the occupied bedroom door open, so noise carried through the hostel. There was sustained screaming while I was there, and a guy was painting the walls and telling us not to touch them. The toilets were CONSTANTLY left unflushed! One restroom had NO sink, so after wiping you have to open the door somehow without getting fecal matter on your hands from the handle, then go down two flights of stairs to reach water and wash up. One of the guys who lived there stared me down like I was his next conquest.

A great spot if you just need somewhere to sleep and shower. It's close to almost everything, and felt safe and chill. This is a very DIY kind of place, not your average hostel or hotel.
