Courtyard by Marriott Richmond Northwest

The staff were super nice and did everything they could to make the stay pleasant, and the internet worked without major issues. The water pressure at the sink was phenomenal, great for soaking your clothes unexpectedly, but that didn't carry over to the shower. The in-room HVAC feels like franchisee penny pinching. You can't set the AC below 68, or have the fan blow without heat. Hotels have to get internet and HVAC right. This Courtyard managed the first, but not the second. All in all, not a >terrible

We come back every year for our Special Olympics State Championships and are always treated respectfully and looked after efficiently. Thanks for the friendly faces and a restful stay.

The room was generally nice, and I was glad to get a last-minute AAA SPECIAL for $125/night instead of the usual $250/night for a single room. That helped make up for the annoyances, but I won't stay again. The Bonvoy app says the hotel is 10.4 miles from Midlothian, maybe as the crow flies. From the middle of Midlothian it was 18 miles and took over 20 minutes on the highway. The hotel doesn't mention the MASSIVE exterior reconstruction that affects parking. It's an open-air lot and costs $5 per night. They also don't mention the free, though limited, continental breakfast buffet. The Bistro breakfast is “offered, not required” and overpriced. I paid $21 for eggs, potatoes, toast, one sausage link, and coffee, but they used the same eggs, potatoes, and toast as the buffet. I could have had a large sausage patty from the buffet instead of a link. The buffet is off the lobby, partly walled in, and hard to notice early in the morning. What a scam!

The staff were great and the room was comfortable. But kids were playing up and down the hall all night, and I heard them. I stayed three nights and housekeeping never came by, so I had to get towels each day. I stay at a lot of Marriott properties, and this was disappointing.
