I’m a proud Hilton Honors member, an intelligent Black man, and I refuse to be mistreated or misrepresented. I traveled from New Jersey to support youth at a football tournament, and instead I experienced what I believe was disrespect, discrimination, deception, and theft. This went beyond a customer-service problem for me. It was a race, respect, and training issue from the top down, and Hilton needs to address this location IMMEDIATELY. The only bright spot was Lexis. She stayed calm, kind, respectful, and professional, and handled things with the competence I expected from the general manager. In my opinion, she should be GM. Teresa, the General Manager, was absent when accountability was needed and couldn’t use the computer system well enough to complete a room change she had offered. Her response was to offer reward points while leaving me in a filthy room overnight, a room that should never have been occupied. My first room was dirty and unsanitized. The replacement room had a ceiling leak, debris in the bathroom, and a sparking light switch that nearly shocked me. When I went back to the first room to get my bag, I saw a note on the door saying, “Room 319 should NOT be occupied. Room is DIRTY.” Yet another young lady had been checked into that room while my belongings were still inside. My closed travel bag was wide open when I returned, my clothes were scattered, and $300 in cash and a valuable ring were gone. I did not leave my things that way, and the violation was blatant. Rather than deal with these serious problems, staff tried to depict me as an “angry, irate Black man.” That was insulting, discriminatory, and completely false, and it was used to dismiss my valid concerns. Jack at the front desk repeatedly lied, unnecessarily escalated the situation, and told police I threatened him, which I absolutely did not. Front desk manager Lottie offered excuses and deflection. Neither showed professionalism, training, or respect. Management called the police on me instead of taking responsibility for the hotel’s failures. When the truth became undeniable, they quietly dropped their attempt to ban me. Teresa shouldn’t be managing a property or representing a global hospitality brand. You don’t ask paying customers to “change their tone” instead of providing the service they paid for.

Great location, and the coffee in the lobby was really good. In the room, the sink plunger didn’t work and there was only a chair, not the sofa bed listed in the description. The AC unit also sounded like it needed attention. There were two shampoos in the shower instead of shampoo and conditioner.

The included breakfast was okay, but the choices were very limited. The hotel looked better online. The under-window AC unit is the kind commonly found in older hotels. It wasn’t too noisy, but it struggled to cool the room. The thermostat was set to 66F when we arrived, though the room clearly didn’t feel that cool. In the bathroom, a cloth hook was broken and half fallen off the wall. There’s also a horizontal towel bar right in front of the sink, more like a safety rail keeping you from getting close. What a “genius” design.

Good location in a nice neighborhood, with lots of shopping and dining nearby. The staff were very helpful, and the rooms, though old, were decent. Breakfast was average. I’d call it an average hotel for the money.

The breakfast was top-notch, especially sharing it with my fellow Caliee from the Young Republicans event. Jack at the night front desk was professional, welcoming, and went above and beyond. Great service and good vibes. Thanks so much, I’ll definitely be back!
