Ione Hotel

The location worked really well for our Paranormal Preston Castle tour and Rail Explorers trip. The guy who checked us in was very nice, and there was a fridge and fireplace in the room, plus a microwave and water dispenser just outside our door. Some room details could use updating, though that’s about what you’d expect in a historic gold rush hotel. I also didn’t like having to lock the door from inside with a key instead of a regular lock. Still, it was a fun place to stay with lots of history.

The rooms were clean, and the bed felt like sleeping on a cloud. Staying here has its own atmosphere, and it’s easy to imagine the gold rush days. Mack was flexible and accommodating when I was arranging my dates, then Alejandro welcomed me warmly, made sure my room was ready and comfortable, and was always around for questions. Burke Family Restaurant is connected to the hotel, and it’s one of the best family restaurants I’ve been to. The service and food were fantastic. Dennis was at the piano in the bar, playing those ivories like Beethoven, with a great saxophone player alongside him. Stay at the Ione Hotel and enjoy Ione. Best experience ever. Toby

I only went for dinner at Burke's Family Restaurant, not to stay overnight. The food was excellent, with generous portions, and their risotto was out of this world.

We had a fun time at this old place. Alex and the staff at the hotel, saloon, and restaurant were friendly and helpful. The food was yummy, and a guitarist at the saloon kept us entertained. We realized late the night after leaving that we’d lost a necklace. My wife called Alex, and he got up to check for it. What a good guy!
