Baymont by Wyndham Iron Mountain

The breakfast was almost nonexistent this time, though it was decent on our last visit. Maybe that was because we were the only guests then. The rooms are clean, and the people looking after the place are polite and accommodating. It could be a nice affordable base for skiers.

We needed a clean, affordable place for the night, and this worked for us. The room had been updated, though it wasn't a five star room, which wasn't what we were looking for. The hotel was quiet, the pool was open and comfortably warm, and there are places for gas, food, and snacks nearby. The man at the front desk was very friendly, and I had no problems. I'd stay again.

The front desk staff were friendly, but that was the only good part of our stay. We rented a suite for Valentine's Day and found stains all over the bed, curtains, and floor. The floor felt greasy unless you wore socks. The bathroom was disgusting: slimy film in the tub and crusted urine stains on the toilet seat. We didn't even use the bedroom tub because it looked so gross. The door locks kept malfunctioning, so whenever we left, we had to go back to the front desk for a new key card. Breakfast was just sad.

Breakfast wasn't ready when we got up. They'd said it would be available at 6, but at 6:45 the gravy was only just warming and there were no eggs or meat. If we'd known nothing would be prepared, we would have left in the morning. We also asked at the desk about nearby bars and got, “I don't drink.” Later we noticed an interactive map of local bars and restaurants right beside the desk, so they may have forgotten it was there. The hot tub was one reason we booked, but we found out from the lobby TV screen at check in that it was broken. I wish they'd called or emailed. We would have canceled instead of writing this bad review. Other guests were asking for refunds after bad experiences too.
