I’m in Irvine for work every month, and AC Irvine has become my regular choice. The rooms are consistently spotless, and the front desk team always pays close attention to the details. Haden, the front desk supervisor, clearly cares about guests and works hard to make sure they’re looked after. I’ve had a great experience here every time.

I spent my birthday here and had a great time. The room was lovely, with a roomy shower and a small view from the top floor over the shopping complex across the street. I’d recommend it for any kind of occasion.

Service was great, and the hotel itself is lovely. The noise is the catch: sounds from the corridor come straight into the rooms, almost as if there were no door, and traffic noise carries through the balcony too. If you’re a light sleeper, request a room away from both the street and the elevators.

The shower was really nice, and the hotel is close to John Wayne airport. I’d never stayed somewhere that needed a hotel key to turn on the room’s power before. The square toilet was a bit odd and uncomfortable for me. Parking takes some figuring out: the garage is detached but just a short walk away, and costs $20 per day, or $30 if the hotel validates it. Valet is $40 a day.

I won’t be coming back. During our five days, housekeeping came only twice. They changed the top sheets, but never touched the bottom ones, and towels with stains and makeup still on them were folded in with the clean stack. Basic cleaning should be a given, even at a three-star hotel. As a BonVoy member, I also expected a little better treatment. This has really let down the Marriott name.
