Embassy Suites by Hilton Irvine Orange County Airport

Bedbugs in the second room on December 31, 2025, made this stay wholly unacceptable and raised serious concerns about cleanliness, pest control, and guest safety. I can't recommend the property to business travelers or anyone looking for a reliable place to stay, and I'd strongly caution others to consider another hotel. I had booked 20 nights at the Embassy Suites in Irvine, California, expecting the comfort, cleanliness, and service associated with the Embassy Suites and Hilton brands. Instead, after four nights I checked out because of a major maintenance problem. My first room had no hot water for two consecutive nights. I was told no engineer was available and it would be addressed the next morning. Staff later called while I was at work to say it was fixed, but it still wasn't working when I returned that evening, so they moved me to another room. That caused unnecessary disruption during a long business stay and showed poor communication and follow-through. The lack of a basic amenity, the ineffective response, and then the bedbug exposure put the stay far below acceptable standards.

Getting to and from John Wayne Airport is easy, only about 5-7 minutes away, and the hotel has the dependable Hilton basics like mobile check-in, a mobile key, and free breakfast. There's also a happy hour with two complimentary drinks, a nice extra. The room was spacious and cozy, with a small fridge, microwave, and wet bar, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. One thing to know if you're driving is self-parking in the deck costs $37. The cable setup isn't for me. There are no channel numbers on the remote, and the guide is alphabetical, so finding ABC or TNT takes some work. It's a solid place, and I'll be back.

The front desk was rude and unwilling to help, and that was where I drew the line. They tried to pressure me into staying in a room I hadn't booked and wouldn't refund my cancellation, even though the mistake was theirs. I booked somewhere else and couldn't be happier. Search around the Irvine Spectrum area instead. I'm fortunate I could give up the money, but it seems they need it more than I do. They changed my prepaid city-view booking to a corner room. There was no soap, even on day one, and the toilet paper was extremely thin. The microwave, fridge, and washer/dryer had problems, and the dryer door opened by itself, so I had to air-dry my things. Lights were dim and the sensors kept switching them off even when I was nearby; the TV also turned itself off, and the heating and AC were very unreliable. The rooms were expensive but felt stingy on everything. Wall outlets seemed throttled or broken, and my phones took three times as long to charge. The rooms felt old and dusty, as in the photos and videos. The VIP reward was two drinks only between 5:00 and 6:30 pm, a window that's hard to use when checkout is at 11 am. There's little around the area, and cell service is very bad. With a busy work schedule, I might have put up with the other annoying issues, but the disrespectful service was too much. Zero stars if possible.

Ricardo at happy hour was a joy to see every day. He remembered my orders and often knew what I wanted before I asked. The restaurant food was solid, and the staff overall were fantastic. I spent about four weeks there last month, had a clean room, and found everything simple and clear. The front desk team was lovely and understanding, even when I locked myself out twice. I'll stay here again next time I'm back in California.
