Element by Marriott Dallas Las Colinas

Comfortable rooms, mostly nice staff, and good housekeeping. My rating comes down to the breakfast order. One of the two chefs gets it right and does a wonderful job; the other repeats your order back, then doesn’t make it that way. I asked for scrambled eggs, and he confirmed, “scrambled eggs, soft?” I said yes, but he brought me fried eggs cut up.

I liked the breakfast area, and they serve breakfast made to order. You can get an omelet cooked fresh right in front of you. The bar does close at 10 pm. I took off one star because, while the rooms were nice, I’ve stayed at Element and had better rooms.

This was my second stay, and it was better than the first one, from a few years ago when they opened. The night auditor working from 12/30/25 into 12/31 was so kind. We checked in late, around 2 am on the morning of 12/31, and sadly I forgot her name. Breakfast was great, and the guy making omelets was phenomenal. The staff all around were great, and the amenities are what I’ve come to expect at Elements. I can never get over how good these beds are, and Westins :) are too. Definitely a go-to for my family when we visit Dallas!

The beds are very comfortable, and the property still feels brand new, with no visible wear in the rooms. It’s reported online as having been built in 2022. The location is convenient and feels safe, alongside a freeway among extended-stay hotels and apartments. It’s within 20 minutes of Love Field and walking distance from a DART station. A few things made the stay less comfortable. The lighting is terrible, so the rooms feel dark at night. This seems to be an issue in many Marriott brands these days, oh right, for my safety and convenience they’re conserving energy. The narrow closets seem designed as a joke: the clothes bar runs front to back instead of side to side, so you have to decide what to wear and line things up in order when unpacking. I also didn’t get the room size I booked at check-in. As they said on a Seinfeld episode, anybody can take a reservation, but holding it is the key. I got the right size room the next day, but only after asking to move. No one at the front desk took the initiative to fix it. Switching rooms took an hour I’d rather have spent doing something more fun than hauling luggage. The hotel also seems marginally understaffed. Now and then the front desk is empty because the person who was there ten minutes earlier has gone to tend to a patron at the bar across the lobby. Requests for service get a polite “could I check back in ten minutes.” Breakfast is free and gets rave reviews for made-to-order omelettes, fried eggs, and scrambled eggs, but there’s only one cook, so wait times can be a problem. Don’t be in a hurry. The other options are limited, and standard oatmeal comes in packets rather than cooked. It’s a functional place to stay, perhaps not memorable. It works well for practical or business travel, all things considered. For a couples getaway, maybe try somewhere else.
