The staff were very kind to me and my family, and the room was fairly quiet. The bed was comfy, there were plenty of sheets and pillows, the WiFi was fine for our limited use, the TV worked, and all the lights and outlets were working. We’d stay again if we were in the area. A couple of things stood out. The bathroom door had heavy water damage and was difficult to open, and there were ants near the kitchen sink. Breakfast had a nice range of choices, including cereal, yogurt, tacos, muffins, bagels, and juice, though the eggs were questionable. The waffles were good, but there weren’t visible instructions saying to flip the waffle maker. The property seemed to be in transition after being bought from another hotel company that hadn’t kept it up well. It was too cold to take the little ones outside, though there was a nice play area and the pool looked great. The location seemed fine.

I’ve stayed at Staybridges around the country, and this is easily the most raggedy one I’ve seen. I’m a Diamond Elite member and spend roughly 170 nights a year in IHG hotels. I stayed two nights, left, then came back for another night that week in a different room, and both stays were trash. There’s no hand soap or lotion in the rooms, the common area walls look run down, and the thermostat in my second room was stuck at 80 degrees. The phones didn’t work in either room, so I couldn’t call the front desk. One pillow had blood stains, and the bedroom TVs looked like they were from the early 2000s. The owners need to put money into this facility. It feels like they’ve invested nothing.

Parth made a big difference during my stay. He handled every request kindly, with a smile and a solution, and made me feel comfortable raising the inconveniences I ran into. Maria also showed real dedication, coming in to prepare breakfast every day, even on Christmas. The hotel is near the airport and some decent Tex-Mex restaurants. The property is dated, and nearly everything besides the walls needs replacing: furniture, fixtures, carpets, washing machines, elevator, kitchen cupboards, and more. The IHG app says the pool is heated, but it isn’t, which was disappointing. For me, this is a roof, a shower, and friendly staff. Don’t expect more.

The friendly staff and nice exterior are about where the positives end. Inside, the hotel badly needs repairs and regular maintenance. There were broken door handles, leaking pipes in the halls, water damage in rooms, and a kitchen infested with ants. The floor was dirty, the upholstery filthy and stained, and the whole place was wildly outdated. When I told the front desk about the ants, the response was just, “Oh really? Ok, we’ll take a look”. There was no apology or concern. I’ve stayed at Staybridge hotels for years without a bad experience until this one. It’s hard to believe the owners take so little pride in the business. I plan to contact the IHG corporate office because this branch is damaging the Staybridge brand.

I’ve been here over a year, and for the most part it runs like a well oiled machine. Management is top notch and clearly wants the place to do well while it transitions from Sonesta to Staybridge Suites. People are here daily fixing things and keeping things running smoothly. Housekeeping works hard and does a very good job. I can’t speak for every room, but I’m on a top floor and haven’t had bugs. I also can’t say whether every room has working water pressure or TVs. The building is dated, though they’re about to put millions into renovating everything. It’s a safe location and close to everything. There are things I’d like improved: more laundry machines, stronger wifi, more closet space, maybe a second closet by the front, and a bigger gym with enough equipment for a full body workout. I get why someone staying a few days might be unhappy about wifi or the gym, but management is making big changes, so patience seems fair. The incredible management and how safe the area feels are why I haven’t left. I’d hate to move somewhere with bad management and get stuck in a lease. The 2.7 star overall rating seems completely unfair. Seeing that has made me think twice about judging a place only by reviews. This place is great.
