The Hope and Glory Inn

We spent our 41st anniversary at Hope and Glory Inn in March 2026, and just wish we’d found this peaceful, cozy place years ago. The grounds are nicely landscaped, and Cottage 4 was quaint, with old style furniture that was still very comfortable. There was plenty of room in the bathroom and shower, and the fireplace made things cozy and romantic. Peggy greeted us and sat with us for a few minutes to explain the Inn and suggest a restaurant. The Colonnade restaurant was closed because of family emergencies among the staff. Peggy had told me before we arrived, and we were fine with that. Dudley brought homemade breakfast, warm off the stove, to our door each morning with a smile and a good morning greeting. Peggy and Dudley Pattinson were such kind hosts, with helpful restaurant recommendations and uplifting personalities. We also loved sitting in detention, the bar, and having a beer. It made up for all those school detentions in the past 😊.

The location is lovely, near the water, unique shops, and a quaint, peaceful town. Everything was sparkling clean, quiet, and restful, and the breakfasts delivered to our cottage were delicious. The hosts were phenomenal and felt like new friends. We enjoyed the whole stay and already plan to return in a couple of months. Highly recommend!

My wife and I had the best experience here. Owners Dudley and Peggy, along with chef Meseret, were incredibly pleasant and hospitable. They went above and beyond, taking time from their busy schedules to talk with us and get to know us. We feel like we’ve made new friends and hope this is the first of many visits.

We keep returning to The Hope & Glory because the hospitality is incomparable. Peggy & Dudley greet us like favorite family members, Meseret is a wonderful person as well as an accomplished chef, and Heather cheerfully takes care of anything we need. The accommodations are made for comfort and relaxation. We adore everything about Hope & Glory!
