The beach access is nice, with good chairs, tiki shade cabanas, and fishing right out front. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient, especially at the front desk, and the place was very clean and well kept. The renovation looks lovely and the room itself was beautiful. Still, it feels like a motel, and the price is high for that kind of place. For a little more, you could stay at a luxury resort with a true beach view, restaurants, bars, and nicer pools. Here, the room faces mangroves by a fishing walkway. I’d recommend it if you’re comfortable paying that much for a motel-like stay.

The only problem we had was the AC. It couldn’t keep up, and we woke up sweating every night, even though it was the coldest day of the year. The mini-splits were still working hard. Apart from that, everything was fantastic. The rooms were very clean and smelled great, the outside areas were tidy, and the lobby staff were polite and thorough.

The nearby park with a proper swimming beach was a lovely surprise. Hotel guests get in free, and it’s about a six-minute drive away with free parking. The water starts shallow and gets deeper gradually, which makes it especially good for kids. At the hotel, kayaks and bikes are included, too, so you can use them without paying extra. The beach by our cottage was nice for sunbathing, relaxing, or volleyball, though it isn’t really suited to swimming, which is typical of the Florida Keys and useful to know ahead of time. We had one half of a cottage with direct access to the water and beach area. There’s also a beautiful park or botanical garden nearby for walks. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The young woman at the front desk was wonderful, and the young man was very pleasant. Everyone tried to help make our stay comfortable. We were very happy with our stay, especially as a family with children. The team gave us a warm welcome and great hospitality. I think some island-style decor in the bedrooms, bathrooms, and breakfast area would improve the place, and a hot breakfast with eggs, bacon, and more toasters would help it reach a higher level. Those investments would pay off many times over. Like any hotel, it has pros and cons, but the negatives have already been covered in other reviews, so I wanted to focus on what we enjoyed.

The private beach was the highlight for us, along with the free paddle boards, kayaks, and bikes. We used those every day and loved having them. The staff were great, and there are nice amenities around the property. Our room was roomy, and it’s being renovated and updated. The king bed was comfortable, firm without being too hard, with crisp linens and nice pillows.
