There’s a short walk to the beach and the ocean views are exceptional. The resort has plenty of activities close by, plus a gym with treadmills, bikes, TRX, and free weights. Coffee’s available in the lobby. I splurged on two massages at the Spa, and both were probably the best I’ve ever had. A great spot for some R&R.

The hotel had a nice vibe and refunded the ice cream, but the few bites I managed made me feel ill. The “sweet shop” was disappointing: the ice cream looked so freezer-burned it changed color while being scooped, and they had no hot fudge for the sundae I asked for. We came in the off season, but I still expected the shops to be stocked. The hot tub also felt more like a heated pool. I politely asked through the hotel’s messaging system if they could raise the temperature; they said they’d tell the engineer, but two days later it was unchanged. I chose this hotel specifically for the hot tub since most places didn’t have one. In the room, the lamp beside the left side of the bed didn’t work, and there were no ceiling lights. They need to pay more attention to quality and details.

Charleston isn’t especially convenient from here. There’s little of interest within walking distance outside the resort beyond expensive houses, and getting an Uber or Lyft can take a while. A trip to downtown Charleston may cost $60–$70 and involve a 30-40-minute wait, so booking ahead is a good idea. Coming back from downtown usually costs $25–$30. The resort itself feels like a small private town, with restaurants, bars, pools, and the other basics, and the interior is nice. Still, it’s quite overpriced.

We stayed at the Sweet Grass Inn for the second time this past weekend to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary, and everything was perfect. Room 533 faced the ocean and was modern, clean, and decorated with coastal touches. The bathroom was just as clean and updated, with a detachable shower head. We love staying there and can’t wait to return with our family. It’s also close to Charleston and other places we might want to visit.

The location made getting to restaurants, shops, the beach, and pool easy, all just a short walk away. I stayed in Building A, Suite 205/207 at The Residences, and the newly renovated suites felt brand new and high-end. The comfortable bedrooms, spa-like bathrooms with walk-in showers, and stylish but welcoming living spaces all stood out. Upgraded appliances, luxury finishes, and thoughtful design made it feel more like a luxury condo than a hotel room. A comfortable and convenient stay that made the trip memorable.
