Extended Stay America Suites Chicago Itasca

The room was clean, and the older gentleman who checked me in was very friendly. The rest left me disappointed. People were smoking outside the front entrance despite the “No Smoking” signs. Breakfast was just muffins and Nutrigrain bars, with the oatmeal and coffee already gone. There’s no water fountain to refill a cup or jug, either. The fridge also desperately needs replacing, as shown in the photo. I probably won’t return to this location.

The staff have been unbelievably rude both times I’ve stayed here, and I was accused of things I didn’t do. The manager is rude and can’t communicate well. Don’t bring your kids here, the manager may try to enter your room without notice.

I travel for work a lot, and this is one of the best places I’ve stayed for an extended work trip. Everything is clean and quiet.

Chicago weather cancelled so many flights that hotels were full, and I was feeling defeated. I called ESA and Mike, the kind receptionist, told me they still had a couple of rooms. His empathy and hospitality were reassuring during a stressful time. The room was spacious and had a kitchenette, which made it great for the price.
