Christmas Farm Inn and Spa

My fiancé proposed in the carriage house, and the hotel even offered to have the fireplace lit for the time he'd planned. It was such a wonderful place for us. The room was quaint and just right for the two of us. We also stayed in the main inn, where the beds were incredibly comfortable. I haven't slept that well in a while! We had dinner at the restaurant too, ordering the calamari and fetttichine Alfredo. Both were lovely, and the service was great. The decor around the hotel was adorable.

The holiday atmosphere at Christmas Farm Inn was lovely and cozy, easily the best part of our visit. The restaurant was another story. Our Turkey and Prime Rib dinners were disappointing for $79 a plate. The pumpkin soup was good, but the entrées were lackluster and the desserts looked thrown together. Service wasn't awful, just nowhere near what I'd expect at that price for Thanksgiving. It was my first time eating Thanksgiving dinner out, and my friends' parents, who aren't chefs, made much better meals at home. Our next three meals together cost less than this dinner and included plenty of lobster, which really puts the value in perspective. I can't comment on the inn or spa, but I wouldn't recommend the restaurant, especially for a holiday meal. The setting is charming; the food and service don't justify the cost.

The staff were very friendly, but dinner at the restaurant was pricey with a very limited menu. If I remember right, the cheapest entrée was a $30 meatloaf. It was bland and pretty small. The fitness and pool areas also closed at 9, so we couldn't get back from dinner and enjoy the hot tub. Our suite had most of the kitchen items, though a small microwave would've helped. The TV was tucked into a little cupboard where you couldn't see the whole screen.

We came back for a second stay in salt box room 16, and it's great that it's dog friendly. The bed was incredibly comfortable, so we both got a much-needed good night's sleep. We made good use of the indoor pool and hot tub. Already looking forward to booking again!
