Margaritaville Jacksonville Beach

The beach was lovely, and renting chairs and umbrellas for the day was easy. The lookout bar was a great time, with fun bartenders, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. I loved the hotel, its location, the decor, and how it had everything we needed. I’d happily come back and recommend it.

Luke at Margaritaville made us feel welcome and looked after as soon as we sat down. He’s attentive, friendly, and gets the drinks just right, checking in to see if we need anything. He’s professional and knows his stuff, but also really personable, which makes for a great atmosphere. He goes out of his way to make guests feel valued. If you visit Margaritaville, stop by to see him. He can turn a good visit into a great one. Highly recommend, from Angelo and Donna Cruz!

We booked an ocean view because we have small children, and seeing the ocean from the room is a must for us when we go to the beach. I called after booking to confirm the room details, and a hotel staff member confirmed it was ocean view. But for $350, we ended up looking straight into a restaurant instead. With hundreds of people eating and drinking right there, we couldn’t even open the curtains with our minor children in the room. We were excited to stay because we go to Margaritaville whenever we get the chance, but the manager seemed not to care and blamed us, saying we had booked a “partial” ocean view. They wanted another $130 to move us to an actual ocean view for one night, and said we’d lose the good Amex rate and have to pay the difference. I’ll include a photo of our “partial ocean view.” Margaritaville has lost our family’s business; we won’t book any of its locations again. Customer service matters.

The repairman was great, and they make a good grilled cheese, but the stay was terrible. The bathroom sink had no hot water and the shower wasn’t working until he came and fixed it. I think his name was huo. We tried to check in before 4 p.m., which is very late and means losing most of the day. The woman at check-in sounded annoyed and kept telling us to come back at four in an unpleasant tone. We went to the pool, which supposedly is only for resort guests, but people came in from the street, including homeless people. One person had a wristband and ten people were swimming. A little girl in the pool pooped in her pants. Her grandmother took her out, laughed, and took her to clean up. She had no swim diaper. We told the same front desk woman, who said she’d take care of it, but 45 minutes later the pool was still open. The GM apologized for my issues and said she’d upgraded the room to a suite with a full balcony and overview, and gave me four drink tickets. But the upgrade wasn’t true.
