Econo Lodge Jacksonville South FL

I only stayed because I'd booked with points and knew I couldn't get them back. The room was disgusting. The beds were worn out, as was all the bedding, and one bed had blood on its sheets, so we stripped it and used our own bedding. The next morning someone was screaming for hours, while the staff acted as if they couldn't hear it. We waited until checkout for the reason we'd made the trip. When I left, they hadn't returned my deposit. I had to ask, then argue about the name on my Choice account before getting it back. They gave me a hard time over it being a family account, even though Choice Hotels policy doesn't allow them to deny someone on the account a stay.

Great hotel, and the staff are even better. They treat us like family. Lots of good places are within walking distance, and it's close to I-95 and plenty of other amenities. I'd definitely recommend staying here when you're in town.

I found bed bugs and showed the owner, but he didn't seem to care. He offered new sheets, and I said I wanted a refund instead. He refused.

The property is well maintained, the rooms are clean-ish, and the staff are very friendly. The desk staff seem strongly focused on money and wouldn't bend even one rule to give my wife and me a few extra minutes to pack before leaving.
