I especially liked the outdoor fire pit, a cozy place to unwind after a long day, and the free laundry right beside a well-equipped fitness room. The hotel is also handy for getting to shopping, restaurants, and whatever else you might need in Jacksonville. Breakfast was complimentary each morning, with plenty of fresh options and good restocking. Several times a week they put on evening socials, with food, drinks, and a relaxed chance to chat with other guests. From arrival onward, the staff were friendly, professional, and quick to sort out any small problem with a smile. Staybridge Suites Jacksonville made for a comfortable, convenient stay with real hospitality. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a home-away-from-home feel.

The gym is handy, connected to the laundry room, so you can work out while your clothes are washing. It’s adequate for most people: dumbbells up to 50 lbs, an adjustable bench, two treadmills, and two elliptical machines. The treadmill belts do slip a bit, though. For stays longer than a week, the laundry is essential, and the washers and dryers are free. Just bring your own detergent. The outside grills make spontaneous cookouts easy, and the fire pit has become a favorite place to relax at the end of the day. This is my go-to for an extended stay in Jacksonville. The Monday through Wednesday social hour is always worthwhile, and the staff preparing the meals really go above and beyond. The food is outstanding!

My daughter went upstairs specifically to get my ID, and Jason kept shouting at me and refusing to sell the alcohol. I’d checked in only five minutes earlier. My bag, with the ID inside, had already gone to our room. When Jason asked for the ID again, I said right away that my daughter would bring it. She was on her way when he started yelling at me. I’d asked why he needed to see an ID he had just seen. The purchase I wanted was four bottles of juice and one bottle of beer. He refused to sell them together. This happened around 11:20 PM on November 17, 2025. Jason’s aggressive, rude behavior was upsetting and humiliating. My daughter was on the second floor, heard him screaming, got frightened, and ran downstairs to see what was happening. I never screamed at him or lost my composure. My daughter confirms she heard him. No staff member has any reason to yell aggressively at a guest, especially where a child can hear it. I expect basic respect, safety, and professionalism. I reported the incident, but no one acted to address it or help us feel safe. I’ve stayed in many hotels and am a Platinum member on Hotels.com. I’ve never had a problem like this anywhere else. I strongly don’t recommend this hotel unless management takes responsibility and makes sure guests are treated with dignity and courtesy. I’m responding to the administration’s statement under my review. The incident had happened only 12 hours earlier, at 11:20 PM the night before; it was now 10 AM, so I hadn’t yet had the time or energy to contact management. Are they really using that to suggest staff yelling at guests is acceptable? If management reviewed its own security cameras, it would be ashamed of Jason’s behavior. The administration’s response only deepens my impression of its attitude toward guests. Instead of checking the footage and addressing what happened, it brought up state laws that had nothing to do with the fact that my daughter had gone to the room for my ID while Jason chose to scream at me. Management has no right to justify or excuse that behavior.

Breakfast had a nice selection, and the hotel was clean. It’s in a great spot near family and plenty of places to eat. I’d stay here again.
