Scotty was a great host, and my room had lovely furnishings. All the rooms have very nice bathrooms. Kimo, the Butler, was incredibly helpful and clearly enjoyed his work. Breakfast was just a muffin, toast, and coffee for me since I'm a light eater, but the presentation on China dishes from the 1880s made it feel special. It made my morning, and I took my time enjoying it. I was impressed by the whole display, like something served in Downton Abbey or Titanic, or to Queen Elizabeth 2. I hoped to include photos of Scotty playing piano for me and of breakfast, but I can't attach photos.

Villa DeWolf is a restored mansion that once belonged to the wealthy Ayres family, prominent in the mid-1800s and friends of Abraham Lincoln. Mr. DeWolf has spared no expense bringing it back to its former glory. It feels like staying in a museum, with family portraits, period pieces, and art throughout. A butler welcomes you, gives a tour, and shares the house's history. My wife and I stayed for a long weekend while visiting family in Jacksonville. I'd especially recommend Villa Dewolf if you're interested in U.S. history and have time to explore the mansion and its surroundings.

The history of Villa De Wolf and Mr. De Wolf's own life story made our stay especially meaningful. He welcomed us warmly, shared both with us, and prepared a delicious breakfast himself. The villa is full of character and charm, and each room has been arranged with great taste and attention to detail. Our time in Jacksonville was magical. This felt like a memorable experience, not just somewhere to sleep. We left feeling full-hearted, glad we'd found such a special place, and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for something unique, refined, and heartfelt.

We enjoyed walking the beautiful, tree-lined streets and stopping by small businesses nearby. Our two nights at Villa DeWolf felt like a real getaway and did us good. We were in Jacksonville for our son's graduation, and as Canadians we had mixed feelings about visiting the US in the current political climate. The owner's kindness, hospitality, and two delicious homemade breakfasts, along with the property's history and stories from his fascinating life, reminded us of the best qualities of the United States and its people. I highly recommend this special experience over a generic hotel. We'll never forget it.

The owner made us blueberry pancakes, fresh fruit, and ham from a local meat locker after we'd had a peaceful night's sleep. Scott, the owner, also suggested Proud Richards for dinner. On arrival, he showed us around the mansion and shared how much he knows and cares about its history. Our room was clean and ready. We had a great stay and will definitely return. If you want a unique historical stay, this is the place.
