Their kindness made the stay memorable, and I’ll remember it fondly. When I checked out, Chris even carried my bags from the second floor to the car. He’d also brought a refrigerator to my room and supplied an extra blanket and towel, taking care of every request. I enjoyed chatting with him and Sue, his wife and partner in crime, each day. Breakfasts were delicious and beautifully presented. Their mothers, Joan and Sandy, daughters Cordelia and Kiley, were friendly and helpful, and I sometimes got to sit with their grandson Michael before breakfast. They make a great team. Chris welcomed me at check-in, carried my bags, and explained the inn and my room. I felt right at home straight away. Their local restaurant tips were useful, especially the Tap Room in Dublin. They also told me where to shop for groceries, Hannaford’s and Market Basket. I’ll be sure to visit again next time I’m in New Hampshire.

Chris made a plate for my wife to take upstairs since she’s a late riser, and he sat down with me for a great conversation at breakfast both mornings. I haven’t had that happen at other inns we’ve stayed in. The breakfasts were delicious and well prepared, and Chris, his wife, and the other staff were all welcoming and ready to help with anything we needed. My wife and I stayed two nights for our daughter’s wedding. We wanted an old historic inn, and the Benjamin Prescott met and exceeded our expectations. Our room was cozy, the bathroom suited our needs, and the shower worked perfectly, which can be hard to find in an old building.

The dining room has plenty of seating, though there isn’t a shared living room for guests. That didn’t matter much since we spent our time out exploring, including some lovely walks at nearby nature preserves. We stayed two nights in November and enjoyed this charming historic inn. Chris took good care of us, and breakfast was very good. He also accommodated my gluten-free diet.

We hadn’t planned to be in the area and needed a room for the night, so Chris helping us check in after 9pm was a huge relief. He even made breakfast an hour earlier than usual so we could get back on the road. The fresh pancakes, bacon, and fruit were all delicious. The room was cute and clean, and we’re very grateful for the stay and for the kindness Chris and his wife showed us.
