EDIT: I'm 56, disabled, and a DV and rape survivor. I paid a reasonable price for a five-day stay, booking it in two parts. When I arrived, the manager said I could stay in the same room. After a storm left about 14 inches of snow on the ground, wind had piled about four feet across the parking lot. I heard plowing and saw the manager using a small plow on the sidewalk. I called to say I was stuck inside the hotel, and later the property was cleared. The next day I left the property. When I returned, I went to the office for towels and garbage bags. The manager got upset that I wasn't sure whether to ask housekeeping or the office. He angrily said, "we are not animals you could have asked us for towels." I explained that because it was a smaller motel, I didn't know who I should ask. When I opened my door, I could smell disinfectant and saw supplies, so I realized someone had entered and cleaned the room. I hadn't requested room service. I'd also told the manager when checking in that I'm a germaphobe and like to give the room a once-over, even if it looks clean. I wondered why he gave me extra supplies if the room had already been cleaned. The following day I heard something at my door. I had put out the do not disturb sign, and it sounded as if someone were about to open the door. I called out, "hello can I help whoever at my door." The housekeeper was standing there and apologized. I also noticed the manager standing right behind her on the porch, which seemed odd. Later, after running errands, I got back around 4 pm. The manager and I arrived at the property at the same time. He hurried from his car toward the office. I went to my room and swiped my key card, but it showed red and wouldn't let me in. I stood outside in the cold for about five minutes. The manager could see my room across the parking lot. When he didn't come to let me in, I called and said, 'Sir I can't get into my room please come open my door because I am not walking to the office.' I waited another ten minutes, then called the police. I didn't know why I couldn't get into the room I'd paid for, with my belongings inside, or why the manager was leaving me outside in the cold. About seven minutes after I called, the manager walked toward me. I told him I'd called the police. Instead of letting me in so I could cancel the call, he kissed his teeth, turned around, and left me outside my door in the cold. I waited about 20 more minutes for the police. I don't know what he told them, but they came out while he was still in the office. I told the officers I was checking out and wanted to ask for a refund. One said the manager wasn't giving me one. Only after I told the police my belongings were in the room did he go back inside. The manager then gave them the key card, and I packed and left. I took a bus to Riverhead, then an Uber to another hotel where I spent the night. I still don't know why the manager acted this way, but I believe he did it out of spite. This was my second stay at the inn. THIS IS MY TRUE HONEST EXPERIENCE WHILE STAYING AT THIS PLACE IN JAMESPORT NY EDIT: On the day of my court date I had to go to DSS. I called the clerk to ask if I could be a few minutes late, and she said yes. I arrived only 20 minutes late, but the judge told me the case was over, I'd lost, and I could file again. I leave this man to time.

The room worked for what I needed as one person staying briefly. But I picked the Inn because continental breakfast was advertised, and none was provided. When I asked, they said breakfast is only served in peak season. That should have been made clear in the listing. Even a little breakfast would've been nice. Instead, I had to travel a ways and pay for an overpriced bowl of oatmeal. I'm having second thoughts about staying again.

The location was great, and it's a very cute town. Check-in was easy, the front desk concierge was excellent, and my room was cleaned after the first night. Unfortunately, noise made me leave after just one night. The walls are paper thin, and I could hear every word from the next room. The shared Wi-Fi wasn't secure, and I've since had numerous hacking attempts on multiple accounts. I wouldn't stay here again.

The staff were wonderful, even going out of their way to mail back the glasses my daughter accidentally left behind. Jae, the owner, was so welcoming and helpful. I loved my stay at the Shorewood Inn in South Jamesport, Long Island. It was spotless and comfortable, with enough room for our needs, though it wasn't especially spacious. The location was so convenient. The beach was only four minutes away, and local eateries were within a five-minute radius. I also enjoyed sitting by the fire pit in the evening. It was a delightful visit, and I'll definitely return.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was good. The coffee was especially outstanding. Our room had a recent update, was clean, and was well appointed. Having a microwave and mini fridge made the stay more convenient and affordable. This would be my first choice on my next visit to Long Island.
