Super 8 by Wyndham Jasper

The room had just the basics, with no coffee pot, but it was clean and worked fine. It was also surprisingly quiet given how close the building is to the main road. Staff were friendly and check-in was simple, and there’s a gas station and a few shops within walking distance. I was skeptical about Super 8, but this is probably the nicest location I’ve seen. Given its higher price than other Super 8s, I hope they put some of that money toward updating the rooms.

They honored our Booking.com rate for both nights, even though we’d only reserved one night and weren’t sure we’d stay longer. But on arrival, the place looked nothing like the pictures. The blanket felt like a very thin paper tablecloth, the hair dryer looked melted inside and didn’t work, and there was no coffee pot. The room was comfortable enough to sleep in, though every movement made the bed’s metal frame bang and knock. I won’t stay here again.

The room had a microwave, mini-fridge, TV, two chairs, a small desk, and bedside lamps with USB chargers. It was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The friendly staff were helpful, and we were very happy with the stay and would return. Breakfast included a waffle maker, cereal, biscuits and gravy, and coffee.

I accidentally booked a smoking room while looking for a king bed and didn’t check the room details. Ms Gloria helped us look at the two other rooms still available, and luckily the last one was really good and had some air freshener. We were pleased with the stay. The room was just right for two, the service was great, and toiletries were provided. You can also ask for free coffee in the room.
