SureStay Hotel by Best Western Jasper

I’d driven too far on a long road trip and missed the bigger hotels, and didn’t want to turn back, so I pulled into this little motel. The room was spotless, the linens and towels smelled fresh, and the cushioned bed was comfortable. I also felt secure with the door locks, which mattered to me as a woman traveling alone. Staff were friendly at check-in, and the price was a bargain. They said there was a complimentary breakfast with several coffee and hot tea choices, though I didn’t try it. I enjoyed the quiet, clean stay so much that on my way home I set my navigation through Jasper, Alabama just to stay here again.

After a long trip, we needed an easy, convenient place to get a comfortable night’s sleep, and this fit. The room was quiet, roomy, clean, and had everything we needed. We heard no road noise, and the bed was comfortable. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. There was good coffee and a nice breakfast selection, but we wanted to get back on the road. We’d definitely stay again. Thanks.

The rooms have a traditional look, but they were kept very clean. Staff showed great hospitality, and being close to the interstate made the hotel easy to reach.

My elderly parents both have mobility and lung problems, so I booked a room for them. After a difficult day of travel, they were told on arrival they’d have to climb the stairs or take a smoke-filled room. There was no accessible room available. My mom coughed for half the night and barely slept, and I expect it may take weeks for her lungs to recover. The hotel has no elevator and few nonsmoking rooms on the first floor. Neither the hotel website nor the Priceline listing said guests must use stairs, that there was no elevator, or that we needed to request a downstairs room. The pictures made it look like a nicely updated Best Western, so I assumed there would be an elevator. If you book here and have mobility issues or can’t be around smoke, call ahead to make sure you can reserve a downstairs room. I believe hotels should make all rooms nonsmoking and provide smoking areas away from other guests. Many of us have lung problems, especially after covid.
