Comfort Suites Jewett

We were in town for a funeral, and Carla quickly learned all our names and made us feel welcome. Regina and Jacquie made sure we had coffee and breakfast, and Pinak was a caring, friendly host. The staff arranged rooms next to each other for our family and let us use the conference room to gather together. They were wonderful and very accommodating. I recommend staying here without hesitation.

The taco shack across the street is well worth the walk, the food was very good. The motel itself is decent and fairly priced. The rooms do feel quite humid, though the shower makes up for that.

The building was clean and pleasant, with a nice atmosphere, but our morning at the front desk was a real letdown. We rang the bell as instructed and waited more than five minutes in full view of the employee, who was getting food in the breakfast area. She looked at us, then kept eating and never said a word. I was very disappointed by that. The night before, with it 95 degrees outside, the AC wasn't working in our room or the hallway, and its cover was lying on the carpet beside it. Our toilet was leaking too, and the elevator was out, so carrying luggage down the stairs was difficult.

The room was nicely decorated, and the bed itself was pleasant, but the small square pillows were uncomfortable and the curtain let in bright outside light. Room #209 had a strong chemical smell that immediately affected my breathing. I had to use my inhaler and wait before I could lie down. I have serious mobility challenges and don't drive, so when I travel outside CA I need a driver and have to provide her a separate room. The lobby was warm and welcoming, and the front desk was friendly, but they didn't know I was a platinum member and charged me the higher rate for each room. The building decor was excellent. I'm not sure I'd stay here again.
