SpringHill Suites by Marriott Suwanee Johns Creek

I was there for four business nights. The shower was great, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. That was the only good part. The couch was heavily stained and missing the long round pillow that every other Springhill has. I had to cover the ottoman with a towel because of all the stains. One bedside light was out, and the fridge door wouldn’t stay shut, leaving its back wall frosted over and water leaking at the front. Two six-pack mini sodas sat in there for a couple of days and never got cold. Highway noise was loud. I’m half deaf, so I slept on my good side and couldn’t hear it. When I arrived, I asked to change rooms but was told no other rooms were available or clean, even though half the parking lot was empty after 11 p.m. on Sunday. I was too busy with work to ask again the next day and decided to put up with it, but I won’t return to this property. (This review is a duplicate of the one I left in the Marriott Bonvoy app.)

I stayed twice for several days each time because this hotel is close to family. Both visits, I found too much other people’s hair in the bathrooms, shower, and beds. They also wouldn’t change the sheets when I asked. I tried it a second time to see whether the first stay was a fluke, but it wasn’t. Paying good money for a nasty room isn’t acceptable, and they need to fix the housekeeping standards fast. The front desk staff are excellent, and the hotel is quiet. It could be a great place to stay if they improved the cleaning.

The location is excellent for Emory at Johns Creek, but this won’t be our next stay. It was raining when we arrived, and an employee had parked under the covered entrance. We parked beside the vehicle to get our luggage out without getting wet, while the people behind us got soaked. After 6:00 p.m., the coffee seemed old and the hot water was lukewarm. Someone else there said they’d asked for fresh coffee at least 15 minutes earlier. We left. The fold-down seat in the accessible tub was dirty, so I cleaned it myself. The breakfast worker was late or had called in sick the next morning, and the front desk worker was trying to get breakfast out. When we left at 7:00, the food looked cold. There were two cars under the covered shelter as we left, and one driver was seen going into the office area. This location does not meet Marriott’s standards.

The whole system crashed this week and there were no key cards. I got three receipts for a two-night stay. My room was never cleaned, and I found ants in the shower. Avoid this place like the plague.
