Holiday Inn & Suites - Joliet Southwest by IHG

I drove all the way there after reserving a room at the quoted price, only to be told I needed another $100 as a liability deposit. The card I had with me didn’t have the extra money, so I couldn’t get the room. If they’d told me about the deposit before I booked, I would’ve gone somewhere else and saved myself the drive.

The gym was clean and larger than most hotel gyms, and the hotel is centrally located and convenient. We’ve stayed here before and will probably come back. Our room was quiet, though one headboard was cracked and some wallpaper was peeling. The bathtub was a little slippery. The elevator gave a weird shiver, but it didn’t crash, so I can’t really complain.

The pool, lounge, and other facilities were immaculate. Our room smelled fresh, with warm, modern décor and relaxing lighting. The hotel also paired a luxurious feel with outstanding hospitality. I’d come back without hesitation.

We checked in at 3:00am with our 8 month old. The website says cribs are available, and I’d even put our need for one in the notes, but when I asked at check-in, the woman said she doesn’t do cribs. After going straight to bed, we got up to shower and found the water freezing cold. Nothing we tried fixed it. They offered to move us, but we had a baby and needed to get back on the road. Then we found a tampon by the second bed, which we hadn’t used. I told management, and she said nobody had complained about the water temperature in that room before. They didn’t even acknowledge the tampon. This is the worst Holiday Inn I’ve ever stayed at.
