The front desk woman was very nice, but the room was disgusting. Cigarette ashes were all over the sink, with fresh burn marks on its edge, and some baseboards were missing. There was an odor, plus a nauseating shampoo smell that I ended up using to wash my hands because there was no sink soap. I asked for a wake-up call, but there wasn't even a phone in the room. The TV remote batteries were dead, and the deadbolt wouldn't engage. The smoke detector was missing from its frame, too. It was fairly cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for, but I couldn't leave fast enough the next morning. I won't return.

It felt like a ghost town, with only one other person on the first floor besides us. The back door where we parked wouldn't lock, and there was stuff scattered outside other rooms. Very shady and very poor. They need a new page because everything on there is a lie.

The desk clerks were pleasant when I arrived and when I left, but the hotel itself was far worse than I expected. There clearly hadn't been maintenance or updates in many years. My room was dirty, with holes in the walls, tub, and furniture, and a previous guest had left very stinky food in the microwave. It was the only place with last-minute availability for the eclipse, so my expectations were low, but this was much worse.

We booked two rooms, then asked whether one could be canceled because not everyone in our party came. The representative said they'd check, but never got back to us. That night our keys stopped working, though the front desk reactivated them without trouble. Later, police woke us with loud knocking, saying we were there illegally and had to leave. We showed proof, and they said we could stay free because the room had apparently been canceled without anyone telling us. Staff insisted we stay since it was their mistake and communication between employees had been poor. We left the next morning. When we returned, the keys had been deactivated again, our things had been moved to another room, and staff again said the room was canceled and we were staying illegally. I spoke to manager Robert, who said he'd contact the owners, but three weeks later nothing had happened and we'd still been charged for the room.
