Hilton Garden Inn Joplin

The mattress sagged badly in the middle and was painful for me, though you might like it if you want to sleep in a hammock. The location is good, the hotel felt safe, parking was fine, and check-in was easy with good service. My room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was large and had what I needed, except the sink only had cold water. Moving the lever all the way to hot stopped the flow completely. I used my Hilton Honors Reward for free breakfast. There was a good selection, but no silverware or drinks. The front desk was empty for at least half an hour, so I couldn't even buy a beverage at the little kiosk. I put bacon and eggs on a bagel and called it a sandwich so I wouldn't have to eat like Grizzly Adams and Mad Jack. Nobody was there when I went to check out, either. The maintenance guy and the breakfast cook came over and checked out everyone waiting for receipts.

The room was very clean, and the jacuzzi in it was fantastic. The stair corridors were clean, well lit, and smelled clean. The night front desk lady was awesome. After celebrating my husband's birthday, we stayed here and had our room placed perfectly by the doors, so getting in and out was easy. This has been my favorite stay and easily the best hotel in town. It's also close to a 24/7 Waffle House.

The staff were very friendly, and the service was excellent. The rooms were clean, and the A/C worked great. The fridge was tricky: it froze our food, so we turned it down, but then it wouldn't keep things cool. The beds also weren't as comfortable as at other Hilton's.

The rooms were nice and clean, and it was a quiet stay. Breakfast was delicious, though we weren't told there would be a charge until we were already eating. It was $7 per plate, which wasn't too big a deal. The pool area could use repairs and a good cleaning.
