Joshua Tree Ranch House

We were in #7, just off the main street in Joshua Tree, so everything was close and it wasn’t too noisy. The split HVAC was quite loud, I’m assuming that’s why ear plugs were provided, but once we put them in it was fine. The room was cute and clean. I couldn’t get the shower light to stay on with its remote, though that may have been operator error. Water pressure was good, but adjusting the temperature was difficult. The kitchenette had everything we needed, and there was a window over the sink where we watched cute birds in the morning. They’d also stocked coffee beans with a grinder, tea, a kettle, and a coffee maker. There was a large closet with a luggage rack. We didn’t bring a pup, but they had all the basics there too, including a food and water dish, cozy bed, toy, and poop bags.

I had a peaceful stay at the Joshua Tree Ranch House Motel and would come back. The park entrance is just a few miles away, and there are good places to eat within walking distance for after a day in the park. The mini kitchen was just right, with a mini frig, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster.

We had three rooms for our group of friends, and waking up each morning to open our neighboring barn doors and enjoy the warm desert air together was dreamy. I visited in mid-May, when the weather was perfect. The motel’s vibe was exactly what I wanted: cozy, comfortable, clean, and a little campy. The location was awesome, with an easy drive up to the park and a walk down to 29 Palms. Parking was straightforward, and staff communicated clearly before our visit. I can’t wait to stay here again!

The only real drawback was how thin the walls were. We could hear other guests talking pretty clearly, though they followed quiet hours, so it didn’t affect our stay much. Otherwise, this was a clean, cozy little place with lots of personal touches, very close to the national park and an easy walk to several restaurants. We had breakfast at the Big Del several times and would recommend it. We didn’t bring a dog, but thought it was sweet that they provide a dog bed, toys, and other necessities.
