Sacred Sands

The views are hard to beat: sunsets, gorgeous clouds, stars, and all that glorious nature. I stayed in the Jade room and my friend had the Onyx room, and it felt like having the whole cozy cave to ourselves since there are only two rooms and we occupied both. Each has a private “fenced in” patio that’s to die for. Bring a bathing suit, or don’t, since no one would see you skinny dip in the hot tub under the stars anyway. The location is just 1 mile from the West entrance of the Joshua Tree National Park. I first came years ago on a solo milestone birthday trip, when it was a bed-and-breakfast, and it was fabulous. A friend and I returned last week to relive it, and it was every bit as fantastic. I wish I were still there! Kudos!!!!

The view from the Jade room was breathtaking, and the outside mattress was just right for looking at the stars. We loved the outdoor tub too. The place has a stunningly peaceful atmosphere, and the room was perfect. It’s a little piece of heaven about one mile from the Joshua Tree entrance. We’ll be back!

Sacred Sands has meant a lot to us since we worked our first wedding there in 2016, when I was just starting the business. It was under different ownership then. A few years ago Keith and Kayla took over, renovated the property thoughtfully, and did a great job building strong relationships with their vendors. Our bartenders always enjoy working there and interacting with the owners. I’ve only been here once, and didn’t stay long. I was looking for someone in charge so I could complain about the noise, then left. While I was there, though, it seemed like a pretty neat place. I see Sacred Sands more than I visit it, since it’s about 1/8 mile away across the desert. From my front window, or the garage when it’s open, the colors look vivid and rusty, which is pretty neat. They have events, and I can usually hear the music from my garage and dance along with the guests. It’s a good time for them, and a good free time for me!
