Sonesta Essential Junction City

The courtyard, with its flowers and seating, was a nice spot, especially for anyone staying more than one night. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. They managed to find us a room even after saying the hotel was overbooked. Breakfast had limited choices and was a bit disappointing, though the price is budget-friendly. I also felt a little judged for booking through a third-party site. If a hotel works with those services, guests shouldn’t feel awkward for using them. It did the job for a night on the road: an affordable, clean place to shower, sleep, and get going again.

I’m already looking forward to coming back in July. The courtyard is peaceful and really clean, and the staff made me feel comfortable. They’re friendly and helpful. This was my second 3rd stay here while visiting my grand babies from Los Angeles. The rooms are big and clean, and my bed was super comfortable. Continental breakfast was included, with tater tots, sausage, bagels and cream cheese, yogurt, fresh scrambled eggs, toast, oatmeal, and cereal. Great job, staff! 🥰👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

The breakfast looked so unappealing that we got a burrito from a gas station instead. There was trash around the courtyard too. The room had peeling wallpaper and holes in the Sheet rock, yet the desk clerk said they’d put a $100 hold on my credit card for incidentals. I’d found a room on Expedia for $91, but hadn’t booked because I wanted to see the hotel first. The man at the desk quoted $162. When I mentioned Expedia, he said I’d have to wait 15 minutes if I booked there. He walked away to his cell phone, and after about three minutes away, returned to say my reservation had already come through. While we were talking earlier, he had also answered his phone mid-sentence, chatted in another language, and walked off. I found that rude in the US, whatever the custom may be in India. In my opinion, keep driving.

After ten hours on the road, it was a relief to find the rooms clean and quiet. We had two rooms for our family of six and arrived around midnight. The desk clerk was prompt and nice. The beds felt stiff but were comfortable, and the pillows were nice, if a bit soft. Breakfast had eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage and tots, plus cereal, bread, bagels, a toaster, coffee, and juice. It was a good one-night stay.
