Rodeway Inn Junction

It's a basic inn, with no fancy lights or extras, but it had everything we needed and it was all in good condition. The room was one of the best for the price, the beds were super clean, and there wasn't any cigarette smell, which mattered with our small kids. The staff were friendly and even let us check out at 1 pm. Breakfast was similar to what we had at Holiday Inn, Austin. We were very happy with the visit and would recommend it.

For the price, it wasn't a bad place to stay. We had two rooms for a week while working. Towels were refreshed and beds made daily, but the trash was left for a couple of days. My shower also didn't drain right while I was using it. Breakfast was decent, as long as the right lady was there to make it.

I loved this place when it was a Rodeway Inn: an older, no-frills stop on I-10 with friendly staff, a busy weekend bar and grill, breakfast, and free stays for pets. The housekeepers would even chat with you. Now it's a Motel 6, which is fine if that's what you want, but the bar was shut when I arrived tonight and a desk sign says breakfast has been discontinued. The welcoming, bubbly front desk woman is gone, replaced by that familiar motel desk attitude that says, "I don't want to be here any more than you do." They updated the furniture and floors but left the bathrooms alone, and now there's a pet fee too. So disappointing.

We paid under $70 total, and for that price I'd stay here again. Staff were very nice. We arrived after 10 pm with a reservation. There was a little mold in the shower, and the water pressure was a bit harsh, though not too bad. We were in room 115; the bed was comfortable overall, but the springs made noise. Breakfast started at 7 am and was a self-serve mini buffet with eggs, sausage patties, roasted potatoes, a great waffle maker, pastries, donuts, and cereals. Good for what you pay.
