For one night on a road trip, this place was a fair deal for the price. The building seems older, though it’s clean and the rooms look good, maybe because some things have been updated. We had to call someone to come to the counter, but they arrived without much of a wait. The beds aren’t new, and one had a metal piece sticking out underneath that seemed like it could catch your feet. The blankets were thin.

We arrived for our 11/30/25 booking and were told there was no hot water in the rooms. Staff said they’d refund us and suggested trying the hotel across the street. The refund never came. My credit card claim was denied after the hotel said I was a “no show,” even though I was there and staff turned us away. Trying to reach the front desk just sends you around the OYO phone tree. Telling guests to go elsewhere and promising money back that never arrives feels shady. Don’t stay here.
The rooms were in awful shape. In room 117, where my family of four stayed, the door wouldn’t lock and duct tape was holding the beds together. After we moved to room 112, we found the sink clogged. Things got bad enough that we involved law enforcement. At 1:00 am, police banged on our door while we were asleep because the manager said we were fighting. They asked neighbors and learned it had actually been the manager and her dad arguing. The manager also threw our clothes from the dryer onto the floor one night while drinking. She took the hotel blanket, and I knew it was ours because one of our kids’ socks was in it. A couple of days later she brought back more of our clothes she’d kept. She kept calling overnight for rides even after I said no, and would knock on our door again and again. The workers weren’t professional. We made the mistake of trying to help the manager and her dad by giving them rides and food. The manager tried to hang herself, left for a couple of days, then came back. My family stayed there for a couple of months. It was a horrible experience, and I hope nobody else stays there.
This rustic part of the Badlands makes a clean shower and easy freeway access feel like a real relief. The people were kind, and I felt welcome here. A simple place to get some good rest. Thank you!!!!
They charged me $250 and wouldn’t return it, even after I found somewhere else to stay. I had a reservation, but when I arrived there was no room for me, only an unheated one. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever had to deal with. Oyo hotels and the love hotel in kadoka are the worst hotels in South Dakota.
