The pool and grills were cleaned each morning, and we could watch from our lanai. The pool is heated, comfortable on a cooler, windy December evening after sunset, though not hot tub hot. The grills were in great shape and used every night. There’s also a small gym, free morning coffee, and a first floor water filter that saved us from buying bottled water. A food truck near the pool sells pasta and drinks. We didn’t try it, but it was nice to have that option for a poolside bite. We booked a one bedroom condo through My Perfect Stays. It was in good shape and had what we needed, and My Perfect Stays was great to work with. This is a condo, not a typical hotel, so expecting hotel service may disappoint. The unit was privately owned and managed by a separate company, so I won’t go into more detail about it. Parking and amenity access cost $18 a day. We arrived after 8, when the front desk was closed, but Auggie from security helped us with a temporary parking pass for the night. We got the pass for the rest of our stay at the desk the next day. We had separate key cards for the pool and room, and accidentally took only the pool card with us. The front desk woman was kind and called maintenance. Though he was helping someone else, he came to let us back into the condo within 10 minutes. Another sweet and helpful staff member.
We lost both time and hundreds of dollars after booking online. When we arrived, we were told the room would take three hours to be ready. After waiting, staff said the website was a scam and they couldn’t help, not even with a refund. Nobody had mentioned the site was fraudulent before we spent those three hours waiting, even though we had told them we’d booked online. That website is the first result on Google and Safari, and there doesn’t seem to be another official hotel site. They need to fix it. Since we booked directly through that site, we should have received our money back. Getting nothing after wasting our time and money is unacceptable. I’d never recommend this place.
The resort itself was awesome, and the staff were friendly and tried to help. I’ll go back next year, but I’ll rent from the resort then. I rented room 1020 from a private party, and it had howling wind noise and water leaks. The sliding balcony door was very hard to open, and the AC barely worked. It was in the low to mid 80s, and even running nonstop it only got the room down to 78. The owner was not easy to work with, so I won’t rent this room again.
The pool was nice, and the BBQs that worked were clean and in good shape. We rented unit 210, right on the ocean, and spent hours on the balcony watching whales and turtles in the water. Location is the big draw here. The unit looked straight out of the 1980s, popcorn ceiling and all. It was clean and adequately furnished, but not updated at all. Paying $18 a day to park stings when you’re already paying top dollar for the rental. Still, the location is what this place has going for it.
The view was great, and the room was spacious with everything supplied except food and personal items. But there was no AC, the sliding door lock didn’t work, and it was never repaired. Beach access was limited. At $400 a night, they could have done a lot better.
