We stayed in timeshare rental C3106. The beds were a little hard for me, but the staff were awesome, friendly, and kind. The grounds were very well maintained, and smoking and vaping aren't allowed on the property. There's a medium-sized pool with a hot tub, plus a BBQ area with picnic tables. Parking doesn't allow backing in. From our deck, the sunsets were awesome.

We stayed at the sea Village for 14 days in August, on the third floor. There are no elevators, so keep that in mind. The condo was spacious, and although it had a few cosmetic issues, like broken kitchen tiles and unfinished trim, everything worked. We had a few garbage bags and some dishwasher and washing machine pods, plenty of pillows, a comfortable couch, three dining room chairs, and four on the lanai. There was no AC, but the fans were enough for me. The pool was clean, while the hot tub was warm rather than hot. Pool rules weren't enforced, and kids often ran around, yelled, and were left unattended. We could hear them from the condo and pool. Sometimes families gathered by the barbecue pits with loud music that carried into the condo. Still, it was a very pleasant stay in a good condo, and I'd stay here again.

The view was the best part and worth the cost. We looked out over the water, and in the morning could see fish swimming around in the reefs from the balcony. The condo was mostly quiet and comfortable, and well stocked. It had AC, which was a plus, though the place was a bit run down. The sliding screen door kept sticking, there was rust and plug-in air fresheners, and several ceiling fans were broken. It had been cleaned before we arrived, but not very well, and it definitely needs a new mattress. When we left the screen door open for a cross breeze, young kids kept knocking and yelling “hello” to prank us. That got annoying. The property itself was nice, but the condo was just OK. We stayed three nights at the end of a three-week trip to Hawaii, and I'm glad it was a short stay. We loved the Big Island, but probably wouldn't choose the Kona area if we came back, since it has too many tourists and tourist traps for our taste. If we needed somewhere for a few days before flying out of the Kona Airport, though, we might consider The Sea Village again.

The place was nice overall, and I'd come back. We were there about 10 days in June and had a first-floor unit, which was handy since there are no elevators. The compound is small and easy to get around, and two cute cats came by the grilling and picnic area. There's no central AC. You can pay $16 a day for air-conditioning, or use the provided “roll & cool” unit, which can't be moved. Ours was in the bedroom, so we used two fans to try to push the cool air through the condo. Supplies were sparse: two small bars of hand/body soap, no shampoo, conditioner, lotion, or laundry detergent. We also found the microwave cord had been spliced after it kept losing power intermittently. NEC says appliance cords shouldn't be spliced.

We rented through a private owner and loved Sea Village. The place was very clean, the furniture comfortable, and the decor lovely. We'll come again.
